Tennessee fans are hoping this won't happen.

Things are totally up in the air for the Tennessee football team when it comes to 4-star tight end Carson Sneed. He has been committed to the program since last summer, but other teams are making a serious push to flip him.

The list includes the Florida Gators, who haven't taken their foot off the gas in trying to catch up to the Vols. Not only that, there's concern that Florida could be jumping ahead. Recruiting guru Chad Simmons has just reported too that Billy Napier and the Gators are the main competition for Josh Heupel and his staff:

Florida is putting in serious work to flip 4-star Tennessee commit Carson Sneed

This shouldn't come as a total surprise. Florida brought in Sneed for an official visit on June 13 and the Gainesville side rolled out the red carpet for him. On June 20, the touted tight end packed his bags and took his official visit to Knoxville.

Things also went well for Sneed, but him saying that he still had some thinking to do after that visit didn't sit well with a lot of people. This wasn't the first time either that Sneed has left the door wide open for him to change his mind and commit to a different program.

For now, Sneed remains a Tennessee pledge, but things could change any minute there. He's ranked four stars, the No. 14 TE in the country, No. 8 player from Tennessee and No. 265 playmaker nationally per the 247Sports Composite.

With Sneed being a Nashville product, the hope is that Heupel and Co. will be able to keep him on board and make things official during the Early Signing Period in December. However, a move from Tennessee to the sunshine in Florida could be in the works if Napier gets what he wants. Heupel wants to prevent that from happening, but your guess is as good as ours on what Sneed ultimately decides to do.
