We are inching closer to finding out where 5-star running back Savion Hiter is going to end up playing his college ball. Hiter is taking official visits with his four finalists, but are two teams starting to stand out a bit for him? That appears to be the case.
This week, On3's Steve Wiltfong didn't hesitate in saying that Michigan and Tennessee are the two teams that stick out to him the most. Ohio State and Georgia are still in the running, but the Vols and Wolverines may have separated themselves a bit.
Tennessee football is hoping to land 5-star running back Savion Hiter
"I still think it's Michigan and Tennessee when it's all said and done," Wiltfong said. "Those are the programs I'm watching the most right now. I think they're the programs that will take that recruitment up another level from an NIL standpoint if they have to to land one of the most coveted players on their board, respectively."
Hiter has picked up 29 offers throughout his recruitment, but he's indeed focused on Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State and Georgia. He took an official visit to Ohio State on May 30 and he'll be making his way to Athens this weekend.
Then on June 13, the speedster will head to Michigan before taking his final OV to Tennessee on June 20. Hiter is ranked five stars and the No. 1 running back in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He's one of the top players overall for his class too.
With Tennessee getting the last OV from the routed RB, could it give Josh Heupel and Co. an edge? They're going to have the last opportunity to turn Hiter's head. The '26 haul for UT already includes 5-star talents Faizon Brandon and Gabriel Osenda. Shortly after Hiter's trip to Knoxville later this month, everyone should find out if he'll be donning a Vols jersey down the road or not.
