The season hasn’t always been smooth for the Tennessee Volunteers, but lately the Vols are beginning to look like a team finding confidence again. Tennessee has now won two of its last three SEC series, including statement victories over Alabama and Texas in the last few weeks.

Given this, the Vols upward trend has shown up on the radar of the national media. After a big weekend going 2-1 against Texas, the Vols have made their way back into the spotlight with their performance. Baseball America has released its newest top-25, and the Vols have come in at No. 24. Josh Elander and the Vols had their best weekend yet, dominating the then No. 4-ranked Texas on Friday and Saturday night.

Tennessee baseball is back in the top 25

This is huge for Tennessee. Tegan Kuhns delivered 15 strikeouts on Friday night, leading the Vols to a big win and putting them in the driver’s seat to eventually take the series. Tennessee is now back inside the top 25, and they should officially be locked into the NCAA Tournament. While they were never truly in danger of missing the tournament, the rocky stretches of the season created concern among fans. Lately, though, Tennessee has stepped up in the biggest moments.

Josh Elander was pleased with the resiliency of the group this weekend and how it's started to click as of late. He said, "There’s been some resiliency there. Understanding, hey, whatever it may be, what kind of offensive day or day of the week, let’s just work together and find a way. I just don’t think the emotional swings are as big as they were early in the year with the younger club."

In the meantime, Tennessee will take on Belmont on Tuesday afternoon, and then the Vols will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to play a three-game set with the Oklahoma Sooners to close out the seaosn.
