Sixth-year senior Bryson Eason put together a strong finish to his Tennessee career, recording 31 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in his final season in the orange and white. As a player who was a Tennesse Vol for the entire Josh Heupel era, he was a steady and reliable player with the Vols throughout his career. Eason earned an invitation to the NFL Combine and has been in Indianapolis this week, meeting with teams and showcasing histalent that we saw in Knoxville over the last six years.

Let's take a look at how the former Tennessee Vol, Eason, measured yesterday at the Combine.

Bryson Eason NFL Combine Results

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 323 lbs

Arm length: 33 1/8"

Hand size: 10"

40-yard dash: 5.09 seconds

10-yard split: 1.8 seconds

Vertical jump: 30.5"

Broad jump: 9'4"

3-cone drill: (did not compete)

20-Yard Shuttle: 5.0 seconds

Bench Press: (did not compete)

What really stands out is Eason's 1.8 10-yard split during his 40-yard dash. A 1.8 10-yard split is very good for an interior lineman, and it shows how much of an explosive player he can be on the inside. The 10-yard split is more important for linemen, too, as many of their engagements need to happen fast in a short area. Eason has an explosive first step and plenty of get off once the ball is snapped. His overall 40 time is good too, at 5.09. For a 320-pound defensive tackle, NFL teams will be very content with this number.

Right now, NFL.com has him slated as an "average backup or special teamer" with a 5.88 prospect grade. With Eason's strong outing at the combine hopefully NFL scouts and GM's start to move him up their board. ESPN has Eason ranked the No. 13 defensive tackle in the draft and the No. 122 overall player. This would have him selected in the middle of the fourth round if he were to get drafted at spot 122.

Tennessee still has its Pro Day coming up, giving Eason another opportunity to impress and prove he’s worthy of a Day Two selection. He has the measurables and the production; now it’s about showing NFL organizations that he has what it takes to make the jump and carve out a role at the next level.
