We know that 4-star EDGE Kedric Golston is going to be playing his college ball in the SEC. However, is he going to be suiting up in Knoxville or in Athens once his high school playing days are over? That's a question we'll have an answer for likely in the next few weeks.

This week, On3's Chad Simmons had reported that the Tennessee Vols and Georgia Bulldogs are the leaders for the elite prospect from Virginia. The expectation is that Golston will be ready to shut down his recruitment after official visits with both programs. Will Josh Heupel and Co. be able to come out on top here?

Georgia and Tennessee are reportedly the leaders for EDGE Kedric Golston

A good old fashioned showdown between the Bulldogs and Vols for a standout playmaker? Yup, that's what we have here. This is going to come down to how Golston's official visits go as well. The Vols will be up first, with the 6-2, 235-pounder visiting on June 6.

Then on June 13, he'll pack his bags once again and make his way to UGA's campus. Golston also has an official visit to Virginia Tech scheduled for June 20, but if this indeed is a battle between Tennessee and Georgia, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him cancel that OV.

Not only that, but he could be ready to make an announcement after he leaves his visit meeting with Smart and the Georgia staff. Throughout his recruitment, the touted EDGE has picked up close to 30 offers. He's starting to get close to realizing where he wants to call home next, though.

Tennessee is off to a tremendous start for its 2026 class, but adding a player of Golston's caliber would no question be a huge win for Heupel. Depending on how his visit goes on June 6, it could prove to be the difference-maker for Tennessee. Soon enough we'll find out if that's the case or not.
