When it comes to recruiting, nothing is over until a player signs on the dotted line. This is something the Tennessee football team has learned the hard way, but head man Josh Heupel is also working to flip some of his top targets as well.
Moving forward, Vols supporters are most definitely going to keep an eye on 5-star running back Kemon Spell. The 2027 playmaker has been committed to Penn State for quite some time, but he's been scheduling other visits for games this fall.
According to Go Vols 247, he'll be in Knoxville for the November showdown at Neyland Stadium against Oklahoma. That's going to be a massive weekend for Heupel and the Vols, especially with Spell making his way to town too:

5-star Penn State Kemon Spell will visit Tennessee for the Oklahoma game
For a while, Spell has maintained that he's fully locked in with James Franklin and the Nittany Lions, but plenty of Penn State fans are worried about all of the visits he's taking. This fall, he'll visit Tennessee, Notre Dame, Florida State and others.
For the 2027 class, Tennessee holds a commitment from legacy linebacker JP Peace thus far, with Heupel looking to add more names to the list in the coming months. Obviously, the focus remains on closing out the 2026 class with a bang, with Savion Hiter and Tristen Keys being the main prospects people are focusing on.
With Spell, he's considered a generational talent and recruiting attention is nothing new to him. Throughout his process, he has picked up 14 offers, but that number should explode throughout his junior season. He's ranked five stars, the No. 1 RB in the country and No. 9 player nationally per the 247Sports Composite.
There's well over a year until the Early Signing Period will arrive for Spell, meaning there's quite a bit of time for other programs to work to get him to change his stance with his Penn State verbal. Come November, Heupel and the Tennessee staff will make it a top priority to make sure he has an unforgettable time watching UT hopefully take down the Sooners.
