After a horrible season, the Tennessee Lady Vols have been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, losing to NC State for the second time this year. After the loss, head coach Kim Caldwell said, It was the worst year of my professional career. I have never hit failure to this extreme. It’s a tough place to do it, publicly, and I didn’t like who I was at certain times."

3 Kim Caldwell replacements the Lady Vols must target if the tough decision is made

I, and many other Tennessee fans, appreciate Caldwell's honesty. Ultimately, the losses rest on the head coach, and Caldwell understands that. It sounds like there are some things she regrets from this year. However, some fans are done with her and want to move on.

Caldwell was very critical of her team publicly. All season long, many fans have wanted her gone despite her publicly taking accountability for the poor season. Vols color commentator and 11-year NFL veteran, and something to say to Vols fans who still want Caldwell fired, saying they shouldn't be mad at Caldwell taking accountability.

Ramon Foster calls out Tennessee fans

I understand where Foster is coming from, but you have to think about the fans' perspective. Lady Vols fans are frustrated with the whole season. They were a pre-season top-10 ranked team and limped into the tournament. Tennessee ended the game on an eight-game losing streak and was embarrassed by South Carolina too. All in all, it was a bad year.

Then on top of that, there was a lot of drama that fans didn't like to see with Caldwell. Many fans appreciated the accountability, but there is also a portion of the fanbase that wants her gone. I think she deserves one more year to see what happens. Things take time to build and in losing, you learn a lot of good but hard lessons. If we see Tennessee bounce back next year, then this program can get where it needs to be.

So, I do understand Foster's frustration because Caldwell deserves one more crack at it, but it's fair to say this is not the Tennessee standard and that things need to change, and it needs to happen soon.
