Once again, Rick Barnes delivers, this time adding Juke Harris from Wake Forest to an already stacked Tennessee lineup. The Vols were already among the nation’s best, but with this addition, they now have a real shot at entering the season as the No. 1 team in the country.
Tennessee’s Juke Harris commitment comes with even better news for the Vols
There’s no question that Barnes has locked in and targeted elite players this portal cycle. He's added five different players who averaged at least 15 points a game at their previous stops. Harris, Dai Dai Ames, and Jalen Haralson all tore up the ACC last season. Terrence Hill scored 34 in March Madness for VCU to help take down North Carolina in overtime, and Tyler Lundblade is the defending Missouri Valley Player of the Year at Belmont. This team is loaded with talent.
Tennessee Vols projected depth chart for 2026-27
Point guard: Terrence hill Jr. / Troy Henderson / Marquis Clark
Shooting guard: Dai Dai Ames / Tyler Lundblade / Manny Green
Small forward: Juke Harris / Christopher Washington Jr. / Ralph Scott
Power Forward: Jalen Haralson / Dewayne Brown II
Center: Miles Rubin / Braedan Lue
This lineup looks like a championship-level roster for Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Vols. The fact that Tyler Lundblade, a 42% three-point shooter and former Missouri Valley Player of the Year, could come off the bench is remarkable. That speaks to Tennessee’s depth. There’s also a chance he starts over Dai Dai Ames, who averaged nearly 17 points per game at Cal last season. Either way, it’s a win-win for the Vols.
The only thing missing is some more front-court depth. Tennessee has Favor Ibe on campus, a 7-foot-1 class of 2026 recruit, so Barnes is trying to solve that problem. DeWayne Brown could slide down and play the five in him needed to in a small ball situation or if trouble occurs. Chroistopgher Washington Jr. could aslo help out at the four, but over Tennessee could use one more solid big man to solidify the roster. Get that checked off, and Tennesse has a legit title contender.
