It's time for Tennessee Vols football coach Josh Huepel to make a statement out on the recruiting trail. Fortunately, he's no stranger to making that happen, as the Vols have been on fire of late in bringing in top talent. Will that be the case one more time in recruiting Thaddeus Dixon?
Fans are hoping so, as the Washington cornerback remains in the transfer portal, but he's getting closer to making a decision. On Monday night, the 6-1, 185-pounder announced that he's down to Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan and Ole Miss, while he hasn't fully shut the door on potentially returning to UW either:
4-star transfer CB Thaddeux Dixon has the Tennessee Vols among his finalists
The Los Angeles native spent the last two campaigns making plays for the Huskies. In 2023, Dixon finished with 26 total tackles and one interception. He followed that up with 43 total tackles and one more INT during the 2024 campaign.
He's a touted player right now, with countless schools reaching out after he decided to enter the transfer portal. According to 247Sports, Dixon is ranked four stars, the No. 11 cornerback in the portal and No. 106 transfer overall.
Coming out of high school, he was the No. 12 CB in the country and No. 77 player nationally for his class. With his experience and play-making abilities, he's going to be a big-time get for whichever team he decides to sign with next. Will it end up being Tennessee?
That's what everyone is now waiting for. Plenty of UT supporters were a bit down in the dumps when Zachariah Branch and Zion Branch revealed they'd be signing with Georgia. There have been other portal targets who have decided to play elsewhere too, but Dixon would be a solid get at this point of the offseason. Soon enough we'll find out if Heupel pulls this off or not.
