In less than two weeks, the Tennessee Vols football team will be taking a trip north to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. It's a showdown fans can't wait for, but the haters have been out in full force to attack UT for one main reason.
That'd be the cold weather that's expected on Dec. 21 in Columbus. Yup, because the temps are going to be dropping, the expectation is that Tennessee is going to fold under the pressure the same way the Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa do. Come on.
It's not like people are in beach shorts in Knoxville right now, as temps are in the 40s. Having said that, the Vols have surely seen all the negative talk surrounding the team, so they decided to clap back a bit with a perfect, yet simple social media post involving the snow that was falling on campus:
Tennessee football is embracing the snow in town ahead of facing Ohio State
That's a troll job if we've ever seen one. Let's be real here, way too many people are making a huge deal about the cold temps potentially impacting the offensive game plan for Josh Heupel and his coaches. We don't think that's going to be the case.
Running back Dylan Sampson, the SEC Offensive Player of the Year, is going to be ready to make an impact early on in this one. It could be five degrees out and he's still going to be ready to run the ball with power and passion. Nico Iamaleava isn't going to use the cold as an excuse to not throw the ball all over the field either.
Plenty of people remain upset the Vols aren't going to be hosting this game at Neyland Stadium, but plenty of UT fans aren't wasting time in making travel plans for Columbus to cheer this team on. Yes, it's not going to be warm when these teams kick off, but the Vols could care less about that. They're going to be ready for battle no matter what.
