No one is overlooking the Week 2 game for Tennessee football at home against East Tennessee State. That's the last thing that anyone wants to do. However, we can't help but be excited about what's to follow, as Georgia is headed to Neyland Stadium in Week 3.

This is a contest that people all over Knoxville are counting down the days for. In some good news for people who won't be able to catch the game live at the stadium, it was announced that this massive SEC clash will be broadcast to a national audience on ABC, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.

4 Tennessee players who exceeded expectations in the Week 1 win over Syracuse

Kickoff time and TV set for Tennessee football vs. Georgia in Week 3

  • What: Tennessee football vs. Georgia
  • Where: Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
  • When: Saturday, Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. ET
  • How to watch: ABC

On one hand, some people are thrilled with the 3:30 p.m. kickoff, but others would have loved for a night game to be on the way. Alas, it's still going to be a day to remember on campus and Josh Heupel is going to be focused on finally landing a jab on Kirby Smart.

It's no secret that Georgia has dominated this rivalry in recent years, but the vibes surrounding the Vols are pretty strong right now after the head-turning win over Syracuse to open the new season. In that win, new starting quarterback Joey Aguilar was spectacular throwing the ball all over the field.

He of course wasn't the only one. More strong play will be on the way vs East Tennessee State and then Heupel will shift his focus to Georgia. Could College GameDay be on the way to town too? No decision has been made there yet, but it's something fans are keeping a close eye on.

From our viewpoint, there's no question that the GameDay crew should be Knoxville-bound, but we won't know for sure until an announcement is made. Despite that, a 3:30 p.m. kick in Knoxville will be perfect and the Tennessee faithful will be ready to make things tough for Gunner Stockton and the Dawgs.
