A new series we will be doing on All for Tennessee every Monday is 'Three critical Tennessee storylines to monitor this week,' giving fans the biggest overall storylines to pay attention to when it comes to Tennessee Vols athletics.

This week will surely be a busy one, as Tennessee has had some big football news recently and the basketball team has a huge game Tuesday night. Let's take a look at the storylines for this week.

1. NFL Draft announcements

Tennessee has already lost three players to the 2026 NFL Draft. Cornerback Jermod McCoy, wideout Chris Brazell II, and linebacker Arion Carter have all announced their intentions to enter the Draft.

Third-year cornerback Colton Hood has been floating around the first round in mock drafts, so be on the lookout for him to enter the draft or even an announcement to stay one more year in Knoxville.

Overall, we can likely expect more announcements from Tennessee players regarding the NFL Draft this week.

2. Can Tennessee basketball break the losing streak?

Tennessee basketball has an extremely difficult matchup Tuesday night versus the Louisville Cardinals at the Food City Center. The Vols have lost their last three games, but they have had a week off to fix the lingering problems that have held this team back.

Right now in Vegas, the Vols are a +1.5 point underdog, so you can expect a barn burner on Tuesday night. Plus, Rick Barnes announced he will have a lineup shakeup ahead of the big game.

The Vols need a win badly and Tuesday night could be a statement win.

3. Recruiting news

The recruitment of Legend Bey has been filled with twists and turns every which way. He is currently signed with Tennessee, but he could be released from his letter of intent at any moment.

Savion Hiter, a 5-star running back who is signed with Michigan, was a major Tennessee target this year. With all the news regarding Sherrone Moore, could Hiter make his way to Knoxville? Nobody knows for sure, but it's something to monitor.

There’s no question that recruiting is always wild, so you never know what else could pop up this week.
