The Tennessee football team is taking on Mississippi State this weekend, but not everyone has forgotten about what happened in the dominant win over UAB last weekend. Unfortunately, Sirad Bryant made headlines for the Blazers for all the wrong reasons.

Former Tennessee CB throws playful shade at the Vols but fans aren't loving it

As you've probably seen by now, Bryant was caught stomping on Max Gilbert's foot shortly after a Tennessee touchdown and PAT. He apologized shortly after the final whistle, but Trent Dilfer is making sure he understands he can never do something like this again. This week, Dilfer revealed that Bryant will be suspended for Week 5:

UAB DB Sirad Bryant has been suspended after stomping on Max Gilbert

This was the right call from Dilfer. Bryant indeed issued his apology, but a statement needed to be made by Dilfer and his coaching staff. Not being out on the field is going to sting for Bryant, but again, he had to learn from this terrible mistake.

Luckily, Gilbert wasn't hurt or anything and he'll be ready to help the Vols take care of business in Starkville on Saturday night. Tennessee remains a strong favorite to post a win, but this one sure has 'trap game' written all over it.

Josh Heupel is going to make sure his guys are focused, as going 4-1 entering the bye next week will be just what the doctor ordered for the Knoxville side. This is going to be the first road SEC matchup for quarterback Joey Aguilar and MSU fans will look to make life difficult for him.

However, Aguilar has proven to everyone that he's the real deal and that he has what it takes to lead Tennessee to a memorable year. His five-touchdown showing against Georgia was brilliant and it skyrocketed his Heisman odds. As for Gilbert, he has flushed his miss against UGA and he knows another big opportunity to deliver for this team will present itself sooner rather than later.
