Urban Meyer appears to call out 5-star Tennessee target over viral visit video

Urban wouldn't last a day in the new recruiting landscape.

In the last week or so, a video of 5-star wide receiver Tristen Keys during his official visit to meet with Tennessee football has been watched thousands of times. It didn't take long for the clip to make the rounds on social media and go viral.

That particular moment was too much to handle for legendary Ohio State coach Urban Meyer? It looks that way. While appearing on his podcast, Meyer was shown Keys having the time of his life in Knoxville. Meyer didn't seem too pleased with what he saw, reminding people that he was thankful that he's now retired:

Urban Meyer didn't love the viral Tristen Keys video from his Tennessee official visit

"Yeah, that's been that way for quite a while," Meyer said on commits visiting other schools. "Once you (get a) commit you know you're in the final three, it doesn't mean you're going to get the guy. But I watched that video and now I know why I'm worried about my boat out back and am I going to play golf tomorrow because it's hot down here. I mean, imagine that."

Yup, Mr. Meyer indeed is still focused on his old school ways and he took issue with Keys, the nation's No. 1 wide receiver, having so much fun while donning a different program's jersey. Whether Meyer likes it or not, this is how recruiting is.

Kids are going to commit to a school and then take other visits. Was Keys going to take his Tennessee trip and then just act bored from start to finish out of respect for Brian Kelly and the Tigers? Nope, absolutely not.

It was also key for the Vols that 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon was in town too to help out with the recruiting efforts. The idea of those two playing with one another at the next level is something that Vols Nation continues to dream about. For now, Keys is LSU-bound, but that could change this summer. If it does, we'll have to check back in with Meyer to see how he feels about things - we're guessing he won't like it.
