Tennessee’s transfer portal woes continue, and this time the blow comes from the defensive line. Trevor Duncan announced on X that he plans to enter the transfer portal once it officially opens, leaving the Volunteers’ front seven facing another departure.
Duncan posted on X a letter for big orange nation about his plans to leave Knoxville.
"I am Grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the University of Tennessee's football program and thankful for the coaches, teammates, and staff who supported my development on and off the field.
After much thought, I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.I am now open to exploring new opportunities and excited to find the best fit moving forward.
Trevor Duncan"

DL Trevor Duncan plans to find a new home
When it comes to quality defensive linemen, there is no such thing as too many. Duncan is a local Knoxville guy, whom Tennessee recruited hard out of high school. The former 3-star also had offers from Kentucky, Purdue, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Vanderbilt. One thing the coaches loved about Duncan was his ability to play on both sides of the ball.
Its too bad things wont work out at Tennessee for Duncan. He did medically retire last year, but came back to football. Duncan hopefully can now find a spot where he will get more oppurtunity to plas. In his three years at Tennessee he didn't record any stats.
With Duncan’s departure, Tennessee now has eight players who have announced plans to enter the transfer portal, including three defensive linemen. Josh Heupel and Rodney Garner will have their work cut out for them as they look to reload the Volunteers’ defensive front in January.
Seeing players leave is never easy, especially in-state players, but Duncan now has an opportunity to get more playing time. Big Orange Nation will be rooting for Duncan wherever he ends up.
