For the past 25 years, Bob Kesling his meant so much to Tennessee Volunteers athletics. Serving as the 'Voice of the Vols,' Kesling has been on the call for some of the most memorable plays in school history. He's beloved all over the state.

Not even Kentucky Wildcats alums can say a bad thing about him! As we all know, all great things must come to an end. Kesling's unreal run is set to end soon, as the school has announced that he will be retiring following the 2024-25 men's basketball season.

""Bob's influence has been remarkable, touching so many lives as the Voice of the Vols and through his heartfelt dedication as a mentor and leader in our Knoxville community for over 50 years. He embodies the true spirit of someone who has given his all for Tennessee. As an icon in the broadcasting industry, we are deeply appreciative of the professionalism he brings to Tennessee Athletics each time he takes the microphone. His contributions resonate with all of us here on Rocky Top and we cannot thank him enough for everything he has done."
Tennessee AD Danny White via a statement

A quick look on social media shows that fans across the country are showering Kesling with love over his decision. He was a former walk-on for the Tennessee football team in the early 1970s and he has embodied everything it means to be a Vol ever since.

He was named the lead announcer on the Vol Radio Network in 1999, providing unreal commentary ever since. He's also hosted countless shows with football and basketball head coaches, of course including Josh Heupel and Rick Barnes.

This season, the Vols' football team is looking like one of the best in the country, with a trip to the College Football Playoff hopefully on the way. On the hardwood, it's looking to be a memorable one for Barnes and Co. too. They now have extra motivation to make it a fun season, as it will be the last dance of sorts for Kesling. Cheers to a great career.
