We don't have to tell you that whenever Will Brooks makes his way back to Knoxville moving forward for a Tennessee Vols football game, he's going to be showered with love. Brooks spent the past five seasons with the program, easily becoming a fan favorite.

Despite being a walk-on, Brooks continuously turned heads and posted some big-time interceptions throughout his career. Following the loss to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff, though, Brooks' playing days for the SEC side have officially come to an end.

It's going to be tough watching this team on Saturdays and not see No. 35 in action. The realization has arrived for Brooks too, as he posted an emotional goodbye message to Vols fans everywhere. Obviously, this is all pretty hard on him:

Tennessee DB Will Brooks posted an emotional goodbye to Vols fans

"Thank you Tennessee for an incredible 5 years," Brooks wrote. "This journey I have been on has been unforgettable. The friendships and memories I have made will stay with me for a lifetime. Thanks to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for believing in me. Forever grateful to be a VFL."

The 6-1, 200-pounder finished this past season with 59 total tackles, four interceptions and his sweet pick-six against North Carolina State. Brooks, who picked off Will Howard in the CFP loss, also came up with a massive INT against Alabama to help seal the win over the Tide.

Brooks was the definition of a blue-collar, bring your hard hat and lunch pail to work kind of guy. He wasn't a flashy player, but he stepped up for head man Josh Heupel and his defense whenever he was asked to deliver. He truly was a lot of fun to watch.

Being a walk-on too, Brooks was easy to root for. Playing for the Vols was a dream come true for him and he was able to end his career by helping this team reach the CFP for the first time in program history. Cheers to Brooks for being what a Vol is all about.
