The whirlwind college football career for Bru McCoy is about to come to an end. A 5-star playmaker out of high school in California, McCoy enrolled at USC in January of 2019, then transferred to Texas less than a month after, only to go back to USC that summer.

Eventually, McCoy made his way to Knoxville to play for the Tennessee Volunteers in 2022, spending three campaigns with the SEC side. Things didn't work out for McCoy at USC or Texas, but you better believe he has loved his time in Tennessee.

That's why Saturday's Senior Day means so much to him. For the final time, McCoy will suit up at Neyland Stadium in front of a packed house. The season-finale is on the road against Vanderbilt. McCoy is quite emotional leading up to this weekend's contest, opening up on just how much the Vols and community means to him:

Tennessee WR Bru McCoy will always consider Knoxville home after his playing days

"I'm a kid from Southern California," McCoy said. "Now whenever someone's like, 'When are you going home?' I'll be talking about going back to Knoxville. It's a very special place to me and all the emotions haven't really settled in yet."

Anyone else getting emotional seeing that quote from McCoy? It just goes to show how much Knoxville means to so many people - there's no other place like it in the country, especially when the city is packed for a college football Saturday.

This season, McCoy has posted 31 receptions for 395 yards. He has dreams of helping Tennessee make the College Football Playoff, but the Vols are on the outside looking in following the latest rankings. However, with some help, Tennessee could still sneak in.

McCoy and his teammates know they'll have to take care of business over the next two games to keep their hopes alive. This includes Saturday's home game against UTEP, one that's going to be quite emotional for McCoy and all of the other seniors who will be saying goodbye to the fans in the stands.
