Antonio Richardson Takes Shot At Jadeveon Clowney

Just because a player leaves the SEC for the NFL, doesn’t mean the gamesmanship has to stop.

Former Tennessee Volunteers offensive lineman Antonio “Tiny” Richardson recently proved that by taking a shot at former South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

Richardson and Clowney are very familiar with each other. The two competed head-to-head several times in college, with both having their shining moments.

Tiny got the best of Clowney in 2012 in Columbia, but Clowney returned the favor last season in Knoxville.

Richardson, now a member of the Minnesota Vikings, has been going up against Everson Griffen in practice every day.

Honestly, Griffen probably is better than Clowney — as of right now.

But I think there’s little doubt that Clowney, who was drafted first overall by the Houston Texans in April, is clearly the more talented of the two.

What Clowney can do on the field is rare. His ability to explode into the backfield is something you don’t see very often.

Clowney has the potential to have a hall-of-fame career. Everson Griffen, on the other hand, does not.

So while Richardson may be technically right as far as the present goes, I don’t believe those comments will hold up over the next couple of seasons.

Unfortunately the Vikings don’t play the Texans this season. So we’ll have to wait a bit before we get to see another matchup between Tiny Richardson and Jadeveon Clowney.
