Tennessee Vols DT Shy Tuttle Out for the Season After Dirty Block from Georgia Bulldogs Offensive Lineman

Georgia Bulldogs Center Brandon Kublanow should be suspended after a dirty block that injured Tennessee Vols defensive tackle Shy Tuttle for the season.

Here’s an idea.

How about a separate NCAA committee be set up to determine dirty hits. If the committee finds that you intentionally injured somebody, then you should be suspended for as long as they are injured.

That is what should happen to Brandon Kublanow after he knocked out Tennessee Volunteers defensive tackle Shy Tuttle for the season.

Butch Jones announced Tuesday that Tuttle was done due to a broken fibula and ankle ligament injury. This was the play that injured him.

This was a clear chop block and holding, neither of which were called, but on top of that, it was completely unnecessary.

Kublanow was holding Tuttle completely away from the play, as Sony Michel was forced to the sideline.

After Tuttle broke free, it should have been over between the two. But not to Kublanow. He intentionally lunged forward for no reason, and on top of that, he got low, which he should not have done.

This is not to accuse Kublanow of intentionally trying to knock Tuttle out for the season. But it is to say that he clearly made a dirty, unnecessary play, one he had to know was dirty and unnecessary at the time.

So suspend him.

Tuttle is a big loss to the Vols, as he was developing into a star defensive tackle. Now, this injury sets him back this year and lots of next year as he has to find his rhythm again.

This was a cheap, uncalled for hit, and Kublanow should be held accountable for that.
