Butch Jones said on Thursday that senior running back Marlin Lane will be a game-time decision on Saturday.
Lane missed the Vols’ last game against Chattanooga with an ankle injury.
The Vols are taking on Ole Miss in Oxford, MS on Saturday.

Lane is no longer the de facto starter in Tennessee’s backfield (true freshman Jalen Hurd started the past two games), but the Vols will certainly need to be at full strength to have a shot at Ole Miss.
Tennessee is struggling to run the ball this season and Ole Miss is one of the best teams in the nation against the run. It’s not a good matchup, on paper, for the Volunteers.
Lane, who has rushed for 160 yards in five games, is averaging only 3.3 yards per carry this year, after averaging 5.3 yards per carry last season.
Even though Lane hasn’t been very effective this season, Tennessee still needs him to be healthy.
If the Vols can ever get the running game going, Lane and Hurd could be a lethal combination.
