Joe Henderson Not Returning To Tennessee
By Zach Ragan
According to a report from 247Sports, true freshman defensive end Joe Henderson will not be returning to Tennessee next semester.
Henderson dealt with some academic issues that the NCAA apparently missed before he originally enrolled at UT. Those issues were unable to be taken care of, resulting in Henderson leaving the program.

The true freshman from Cleveland, OH was a redshirt candidate for the Volunteers, as he never appeared in a game this past season. The former four-star defensive end was expected to contribute next season, but with the resurgence of the the Vols’ defensive line, it’s unclear how much he would’ve contributed.
While losing potential depth is never a positive, the loss of Henderson shouldn’t have much effect, if any, on the Vols’ football program.
Henderson will likely get his academic issues fixed and surface at another program. Before he committed to Tennessee, Henderson had offers from Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
