Jason Croom To Miss Bowl Game Due To Injury
By Zach Ragan
Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jason Croom will miss Tennessee’s bowl game against Iowa, according to UT wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni.
Tennessee is already without sophomore wide receivers Marquez North and Josh Smith, both of whom suffered season-ending injuries which required surgery.
The loss of Croom will definitely hurt the Vols — and not just from a depth standpoint.
Croom showed improvement during his second season, despite starting in only one game this season (compared to seven games in 2013).
The Georgia native caught 21 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns and proved to be a solid red-zone target.

Josh Malone, Vic Wharton and Johnathon Johnson will be expected to step up, against Iowa, in Croom’s absence.
When healthy, the Volunteers posses on of the top wide receiver groups in the SEC.
Unfortunately the Vols have been unable to remain healthy at the position, starting back in September with multiple injuries.
The good news, however, is that Malone and junior Von Pearson both appear to be fully healthy, heading into the TaxSlayer bowl.
Injuries have definitely held the Vols back this season. But at the end of the day, you play with those you can put on the field and that’s what Tennessee will have to do in order to secure a bowl victory.
