Vols Recruiting: Dontavious Jackson Offered By Tennessee

Tennessee ventured to Texas to hire their latest basketball coach, but that’s not the only thing they tried to bring back from the Lonestar State.

The Vols offered 2016 four-star linebacker Dontavious Jackson, 6’2″/248 lbs from Houston, TX (Alief Elsik) on Tuesday.

Jackson is rated by 247Sports as the 14th best player in the state of Texas and the second best inside linebacker in the nation.

Jackson has a litany of offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA and Wisconsin, among many others.

It appears that the usual suspects (Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M), along with Michigan, are at the top of Jackson’s list.

Jackson recently took an unofficial visit to Texas and he’s schedule to visit Michigan in early April.

Tennessee probably won’t be a major factor in Jackson’s recruitment, unless they can get him on campus at some point. If that happens, then anything is possible.
