Vols Football: Corey Vereen Injury Upate
By Zach Ragan
Vols defensive lineman Corey Vereen, who recently underwent knee surgery, was absent from practice on Tuesday, but UT head coach Butch Jones gave an update on when we might see the Florida native again.
Jones, who spoke to the media after Tennessee’s indoor practice on Tuesday, said that he expects Vereen to return to the team “sometime in June”.

Tennessee is already dealing with a lack of depth along their defensive line, so they certainly don’t want to lose anyone else to injury. The good news for the Vols, however, is that it doesn’t sound like Vereen’s injury, or subsequent surgery, is too serious.
The junior defensive end started in 11 of Tennessee’s 13 games last season. He accounted for 24 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Vereen will be behind Derek Barnett and Curt Maggitt this season. He should be a significant contributor in 2015.
