The Tennessee native was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. McClendon spent one season with the Colts, before spending time with Detroit, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and most recently Jacksonville.

McClendon started three games for the Jaguars in 2014 (one at guard and two at center).

The Dolphins are hoping that McClendon will compete with Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner and J.D. Martin for a starting guard spot.
