The Tennessee Volunteers received their second 2016 pledge in less than a week as 2016 three-star athlete TaDarryl Marshall announced his commitment to the Vols.

Marshall, 6’0″/180 lbs from Leeds, AL (Leeds), is rated by 247Sports as the 13th best player in the state of Alabama and the 35th best athlete in the nation.

The Alabama native chose Tennessee over Alabama and Auburn.

Marshall is a solid get for the Vols. He’s an athletic kid that could play at several different positions.

AL.com reported that most schools, except for Auburn, offered Marshall as a quarterback.

It’s unclear what position Marshall will play at Tennessee, but I wouldn’t expect it to be at quarterback. The Vols have a lot of talent and plenty of depth now at that position.

The most likely scenario is that Marshall ends up at cornerback or wide receiver for UT. That’s definitely where he can have the biggest impact on Rocky Top.

Regardless of where the Vols’ latest commit ends up playing, there’s no doubt that he’s an electric athlete that has the potential to be a difference maker for the Big Orange.
