Justin Coleman Signs With Minnesota Vikings

Tennessee’s incredible draft streak ended on Saturday evening, as Justin Coleman (the only former Vol that analysts predicted could be drafted) went all seven rounds of the 2015 NFL Draft without hearing his named called.

That means that 2015 is the first year since 1963 that a Vol wasn’t drafted.

But just because Coleman wasn’t drafted, doesn’t mean he won’t have a future in the NFL.

The former Vol signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings, shortly after the conclusion of the draft on Saturday.

Coleman will join fellow former Vols Cordarrelle Patterson and Antonio “Tiny” Richardson in Minnesota.

More from Vols In The Pros

The Brunswick, GA native started 38 games during his career at Tennessee, including all 25 games over the final two years of his career.

Coleman, a cornerback, accounted for 157 tackles during his time at Rocky Top. He also had five career interceptions, including four during his senior season.

It’ll be interesting to see if Coleman is able to make the team out of camp. He doesn’t necessarily have the talent to be a starter in the NFL, but he definitely has the talent to be included on a NFL roster.
