Vols Recruiting: LaGaryonn Carson Offered By Tennessee
By Zach Ragan
2017 four-star defensive end LaGaryonn Carson picked up an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday.
Carson is a 6’4″/260 lb strong-side defensive end from Texarkana, TX (Liberty-Eylau). 247Sports rates him as the 31st best 2017 player in the state of Texas and the eighth best strong-side defensive in the nation.
Carson, in addition to his offer from the Volunteers, has also picked up offers from Alabama, Texas and Texas A&M in the past several days.

According to 247Sports, Carson finished the 2014 season with 101 tackles, five sacks, one pass break up and two forced fumbles.
Vols head coach Butch Jones and his staff have had some incredible recruiting success during their time on Rocky Top, but it’s going to be very tough for them to pull a player like Carson out of the state of Texas.
It’s entirely possible, but I wouldn’t look for it to happen. And that’s no sleight to Tennessee, that’s just how it goes sometimes in recruiting.
