Justin Coleman Receives Praise In Vikings Mini Camp

Former Tennessee Volunteers defensive back Justin Coleman was unable to keep the Vols’ draft streak alive, but he still might have a future in the NFL.

Coleman, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings after going undrafted in 2015 NFL Draft, received some kind words this past weekend via Paul Allen (covers the Vikings for KFAN).

Allen is right that Coleman is a longshot to make the Vikings’ 53-man roster, but that’s something that is generally true of every undrafted free agent.

However, it’s a great sign for the former Vol that he stood out a bit during his first mini camp action. It’s obviously way early and it was just other rookies and invite players that Coleman was going up against, but if you’re an undrafted guy, you have to stand out from the start if you want to have a shot at making the team.

Coleman showed in college that he has talent. But he also showed that he has some glaring cover weaknesses.

Again, it’s very early, but the former Vol should be on an NFL roster this fall.
