Tennessee Vols athletics will be switching to Nike July 1 after 20 years with Adidas. For the week leading up to the switch, we will recap the Adidas era. Here are the top 10 coaches from that era.

We continue with our recap of the Adidas era by honoring those leaders who made it so great.

Tennessee athletics during the Adidas Era was marked by an amazing level of stability in coaching across a variety of sports for the most part.

And then it descended into an epic level of turmoil.

The collection of Tennessee Vols coaches during this period though includes an elite group of people that are among the best in the program’s history. There are still quite a few coaches who were among the worst as well, but we fortunately do not have to name them here.

The stability brought about the most successful period of Tennessee athletics in history during this era, and that is without the last five years.

Take in the first 15 years of the era, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a more successful athletic period in Tennessee history.

As a result, we have to give credit to the coaches who made this success possible.
