Final Take and Prediction

The Tennessee Vols could use three more commitments for this recruiting period, but then again, you never have enough players on your offensive line. That being said, it would be great if the Vols got two more commitments on the line.

Two more commitments at least has the team set with a great rotation going into 2017 and even beyond, and that is without a 2017 class of offensive linemen. So anything really after that could be icing on the cake unless you are Nick Saban and build everything you do around the trenches.

Anyway, Butch Jones is probably as aware of this as anybody, which is why he is targeting diversity on the offensive line. And it is going to pay off.

Tennessee already has a guy who is probably going to be a for sure commitment in the Brentwood prospect Bryce Matthews. All for Tennessee is predicting he will stay home. That will make for two recruits for this class already, which will be great. And even better, both will be Tennessee prospects.

Then, at least one of the diverse offensive guards will pick Tennessee. That will make for three offensive linemen in this class, which will offset the loss of the three seniors and keep the depth in the program for the next few years. They will probably only add to it with the 2017 class since there will only be one senior on the line in 2016. And at that point, the program should be fine.
