Tennessee Vols Pick Up Four-Star Linebacker Daniel Bituli

Four-star linebacker and in-state prospect Daniel Bituli of the 2016 Class verbally announced his commitment to the Tennessee Vols on Saturday.

Butch Jones and Co. just picked up their first big verbal commitment for the class of 2016 following the dead period.

The Tennessee Volunteers picked up Nashville prospect Daniel Bituli, who is a four-star on Rivals and 247 Sports out of Nashville Christian School.

Bituli announced his commitment to Tennessee via Twitter.

Ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the state of Tennessee and the No. 21 best prospect in the country at linebacker, Bituli is another huge in-state pickup and continues the trend of the state of Tennessee becoming loaded with talent.

Here is his highlight video from 247.

At 6’2″ 218 pounds, Bituli was also ranked the No. 14 outside linebacker in the country on 247.

As the 13th commitment for the 2016 recruiting class, the seventh four-star, the fifth in-state prospect picked up, and the second linebacker, he chose Tennessee over Ole Miss, Auburn, and nine other schools that all offered him a scholarship. This is a great pickup to add depth to the linebacker position, which is set to only lose one starter after this year.

And with three linebackers brought in for the 2015 recruiting class along with Timothy Hart as another linebacker out of Memphis already committed for next year, the Vols could be extremely deep at the position as long as everybody stays.

Going into Saturday morning, Tennessee had the No. 18 ranked recruiting class in the country according to Rivals, but there are still plenty of other players they are pursuing. And this pickup should at least move the Vols up to No. 16.

Clearly, Butch Jones and his staff are not letting up when it comes to recruiting.
