It is time to start previewing the Tennessee Vols 2015 football team at every position. Here is a look at the quarterback situation.

With SEC Media Days now in the rearview mirror, it is officially time to start gearing up for football season. And before Fall Practice gets here, we are going to provide a position-by-position preview of the Tennessee Volunteers.

And today starts with the quarterbacks.

More from Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee is a far cry from where it was in the 1990s and halfway through the 2000s when the quarterback position was never a problem. Since the departure of Erik Ainge, only one quarterback, Tyler Bray, has ever shown the ability to actually play college football in the SEC, but he was such a poor leader and lacked so many intangibles that nobody ever really liked him.

Enter Joshua Dobbs.

One of many Butch Jones recruits, Dobbs showed nothing in 2014. But a couple of strong outings toward the end of the 2014 season has many Vol fans incredibly excited about what he can do this year.

After Dobbs, a good spring by incoming freshman Quinten Dormady and two more four-star quarterbacks brought in for this class leaves the program appearing to choose among good quarterbacks for the first time in a while.

Justin Worley has graduated and Nathan Peterman is gone, so the future of the program is now with these new quarterbacks.
