Tennessee fans are excited about their starting quarterback in 2015 — and for good reason.
Joshua Dobbs will enter the 2015 season as the Vols’ unquestioned starter and he has huge expectations on his shoulders.
In 2014, the Georgia native, for the second straight season, took over as Tennessee’s starting quarterback after previous starter Justin Worley sustained a season ending injury.

Dobbs immediately provided a spark for the Volunteers’ offense.
In six games with Dobbs was under center (counting the Alabama game, which Nathan Peterman started), Tennessee averaged 36.7 points a game. When Dobbs wasn’t under center, the Vols averaged 24.4 points a game (that includes games against non-conference opponents Utah State, Arkansas State and Chattanooga).
Clearly the Vols’ offense was much more efficient with Dobbs at the helm. With another year of experience under his belt, and a lot of players coming back healthy in 2015 (such as Josh Smith, Marquez North and Josh Malone, plus the addition of Alvin Kamara), the Vols should be even better offensively.
Dobbs is considered a dark horse candidate for the Heisman Trophy in 2015. I’m not sure he’ll attain those type of numbers, but if he stays healthy, he could get very close.
