Tennessee football is back! As they get set to start the year, here are five bold predictions for the Volunteers for the 2015 college football season.

The Tennessee Vols are looking to return to their glory days this year after seven straight seasons of six losses or more, five of which ended up being loses seasons and four of which included no postseason play.

It has been a dark time for the football program, and everybody in Vol Nation is desperately hoping that it is resurrected this year with so much talent, depth, experience, recruiting, and dare we say great coaching.

Last season provided a glimmer of hope that the Vols were on the way back, but it happened right after they hit rock-bottom.

That was, of course, was at a random early point in the second quarter of the Alabama game. Tennessee was 3-4 at the time in a season that included blowout losses to Ole Miss and Oklahoma along with heartbreaking losses against Georgia and Florida, and that Florida loss was one of the lowest points in the football program’s history.

Justin Worley, their senior quarterback, was done for the year due to injury, and with Nathan Peterman in the line-up, the Vols were down 27-0 to Alabama. That’s when Joshua Dobbs, who had a horrible freshman year, came in and led the Vols back to a respectable 34-20 loss.

He then got on a roll, leading the team to a euphoric win over South Carolina, a blowout win over Kentucky, a close win over Vanderbilt, and a bowl win over Iowa to help the team finish the year 4-1 and provide all this excitement.

Media experts now have a lot of respect for the Vols, putting them at No. 25 in both polls and picking them to finish second in the East, with some picking them to finish first.

All of these preseason expectations are nice, but will Tennessee live up to them? Here are five bold predictions about the 2015 Tennessee Vols football team.
