Former Vols: Justin Coleman Signed To Patriots’ Active Roster

Former Tennessee Volunteers defensive back Justin Coleman has had quite the off-season adventure.
The Brunswick, GA native went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, but was quickly signed by the Minnesota Vikings.
Coleman spent the summer with the Vikings, before being released on August 30. He then signed with the New England Patriots, but was released the next day.

On September 6, Coleman was signed to the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. That lasted for three days, before the Patriots resigned Coleman. This time to the their 53-man roster.
According to NESN, the Patriots planned to sign Coleman to their practice squad, but Coleman elected to sign with Seattle instead.
So the Patriots did what the Patriots do — they decided to just sign Coleman from the Seahawks’ practice squad to make certain he would be a Patriot.
Coleman, who tied for fourth in the SEC as a senior with four interceptions, certainly took an intriguing route to make an active roster this season.
Though I’m pretty certain that Coleman doesn’t really care what route he took. He’s most likely just excited to be part of a team’s 53-man roster.
