The Tennessee Vols rebounded from losing to the Oklahoma Sooners with a big win at Neyland Stadium. The Volunteers football team beat WCU 55-10.
There was no letdown here.
Despite concerns that they would not recover from the Oklahoma game and be looking ahead to the Florida game, the Vols destroyed the Western Carolina Catamounts 55-10 at Neyland Stadium. And the crazy part is it was not even that close.

Butch Jones kept his squad focused, which is a testament to him.
With Eric Berry in the house, Tennessee dominated Western Carolina for the entire first half going into the locker room with a 41-3 lead.
The defense dominated all night and did not give up a touchdown until the end of the game after garbage time. For the second straight week, it has looked great after the secondary returned to full strength and it was not stuck on the field the entire time.
The Vols jumped out to an early lead after a WCU fumble on the first drive and then a Joshua Dobbs pass to Preston Williams for a touchdown.
An Aaron Medley field goal made it 10-0, and after multiple punts, Jalen Hurd broke it to 17-0 after a five yard touchdown pass from Dobbs to cap off a 44-yard drive.
Then came another field goal to make it 20-0, and LaDarrell McNeil showed his return with an interception returned all the way into the WCU red zone. An eight-yard Hurd run made it 27-0.
After a WCU fumble, Jones began to pull the starters.
Quinten Dormady was brought in, and Alvin Kamara had a two-yard touchdown run.
Then, the Catamounts drove into field goal range to make it 34-3, but Evan Berry, with his brother looking on, was able to return the kickoff for a touchdown after an epic run to send the Vols into halftime with a 41-3 lead.
Then, in the second half, Kamara returned a punt for a touchdown to extend the lead to 48-3.
The next time the Vols got the ball, Dormady lead a 90-yard drive that was capped off with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Preston Williams.
Dormady was six of eight for 93 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions at the end of three after replacing Joshua Dobbs, who was 15 of 21 for 144 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while picking up six rushing yards before being pulled in the first half with the Vols already up 27-0.
Meanwhile, Jalen Hurd had 11 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown while Alvin Kamara had six carries for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Josh Kelly, the third-team running back, had 13 carries for 59 yards.
Preston Williams led the Vols in receiving with three receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Another highlight for the Vols on top of the entire defense was Trevor Daniel still continuing to be an awesome punter after he consistently nailed his punts inside the 20 yard line, averaging 42.7 yards per punt and successfully pooching two inside the 10.
This was a nice win, but now comes the big one. It’s time for the Vols to get ready for the Florida Gators, a game that will define their season. That is a judgment game for Jones that he has to win.
