NFL Draft: Tennessee Vols CB Cameron Sutton No. 19 on Mel Kiper’s Big Board
Tennessee Volunteers cornerback Cameron Sutton is finally getting national recognition, being ranked No. 19 on Mel Kiper’s updated NFL Draft Big Board.
After playing great for three weeks, Cameron Sutton has really improved his draft stock.
The junior cornerback for the Vols moved up to No. 19 on the recent Mel Kiper Big Board that was released Wednesday earlier this week.

According to a report on the Knoxville News Sentinel, Kiper says Sutton can run well and close in on plays extremely well also.
Here is a direct quote from him.
"“With great hips and short-area quickness, he turns and runs well but is also quick to break on things in front of him and make a play on the ball.”"
Kiper did say that Sutton needs to get more physical if there is something he needs to improve upon, but he also touted Sutton’s ability in the return game.
Sutton is under-rated with his physical ability. Sure, he is an athlete who is a great returner and has shut down an entire side of the field in coverage. But one thing Kiper may have missed is Sutton’s ability to bring guys down.
He has blown up multiple screen plays this year so far, tackling guys at the line of scrimmage.
That is going to be a huge plus to boost his draft stock going forward.
Kiper’s big board had a new No. 1, Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, who made a name for himself in the Rebels victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide. No. 2 on the board was Ohio State Buckeyes defensive end Joey Bosa, and the highest ranked quarterback on his board, California quarterback Jared Goff, came in at No. 3.
Sutton will have plenty of more chances this year to improve his stock, starting with this Saturday in The Swamp against the Florida Gators.
