Tennessee vs. Florida on College Gameday: Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit Pick Vols; Desmond Howard Picks Gators

For the Tennessee vs. Florida football matchup on College GameDay, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit picked the Volunteers. Desmond Howard picked the Gators.

The Tennessee Vols might be in some serious trouble now.

On College GameDay, Lee Corso picked Tennessee to beat Florida because of special teams and the way their offense has played. Kirk Herbstreit picked them because of Joshua Dobbs and Jalen Hurd while also complimenting their defense.

Desmond Howard said the defense would be why the Gators win, however. Here is the video from ESPN.

While the analysis of all these guys was great, nobody in Knoxville wants to see Corso and Herbstreit both picking the Vols. That just spells disaster for Tennessee in Gainesville this Saturday if you look at the history.

Let’s not forget 2012 when College GameDay actually went to Knoxville for the Tennessee-Florida game and the crew picked Tennessee. There was also that instance back in 2002, after Corso and Herbstreit would pick Florida every year but decided to pick Tennessee that year, and the Vols blew it at home 30-13.

Tennessee fans do not like seeing the College GameDay crew, particularly Corso and Herbstreit, picking their team in the Tennessee vs. Florida game.

But perhaps there will be a bit of a change in luck with Rece Davis hosting the show as opposed to Chris Fowler.

Either way, when you are in a 10-game losing streak to a school you are supposed to be on equal footing with, you search for every excuse in the book to look at why that streak has gone on so long. The College GameDay crew is one of those excuses.

But hey, at least Howard decided to pick the Gators. That’s another scary thought, though, because his point about Florida’s defense was a great point.

And with all of this, the superstition has begun.
