Butch Jones is in serious trouble now. His Vols have fallen to 2-3 on the year with Georgia and Alabama up next.

Joshua Dobbs overthrew Josh Malone on a fourth down play, and Arkansas converted a third and two in Tennessee territory with two minutes left to run out the clock.

Bret Bielema’s Arkansas Razorbacks took the opening drive in the third quarter 80 yards and capped it off with a one-yard touchdown run by Alex Collins to take the lead over the Vols 24-17. That would be all they needed.

Tennessee responded by driving into field goal range, and Aaron Medley nailed a 45-yard field goal after the ball hit the uprights and bounced in, but that was not enough.

The Vols did not score again for the second half, and despite a blocked field goal and a failed fake field goal called by Bielema in the fourth quarter, Tennessee could not capitalize. Joshua Dobbs and Co. went three and out both times on offense.

Butch Jones’s team blew another lead in this game.

The Vols jumped out to a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter.

The lead could have been larger, but a missed 28-yard field goal by Aaron Medley and a fumble in the red zone by Preston Williams kept the Vols scoreless on two trips to the red zone.

Evan Berry started things off right for the Vols with a kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game and give Tennessee a 7-0 lead.

Joshua Dobbs capped off another drive with a touchdown run. He was 20 of 36 for 232 yards and had seven rushing yards and a touchdown.

But the Vols’ lead would not hold.

Arkansas responded with four-play 75-yard drive highlighted by a 52 yard pass from Brandon Allen to Drew Morgan and capped off by a four-yard touchdown run from Alex Collins.

Arkansas later tied it up with a 33-yard touchdown pass from Allen to Dominique Reed.

But a 34-yard field goal from Aaron Medley on the next drive extended the Vols lead to 17-14.

The Razorbacks then drove down the field at the end of the first half to cap off a long drive with a 26-yard field goal from Cole Hedlund to tie the Tennessee Vols 17-17 going into halftime after being down 14-0.
