The Tennessee Vols football team lost a fumble on the one-yard line vs. the Georgia Bulldogs that was returned for a touchdown, reminiscent of 2003.
They were on the one-yard line after a great run by Joshua Dobbs and about to go into the end zone for a touchdown.
But Jalen Hurd fumbled the ball, and Leonard Floyd returned it for a touchdown to give the Georgia Bulldogs a 7-0 lead.
Here is the video.
This was a sickening play for the Vols, but it’s nothing new.
In 2003, with Tennessee down 13-7 and a few seconds left in the half, they were about to go in for a touchdown to take a 14-13 lead. And they were going to get the ball in the second half.
But this happened.
This changed the game, and the Dawgs won 41-14, which was the difference in the SEC East that year.

It seems Tennessee is always good for giving up a terrible play to Georgia that completely changes the complexion of the game. But at least they were able to respond by scoring a field goal when they got the ball back.
Still, that play was awful and vintage Tennessee-Georgia.
