Offensive Grades
Quarterback: A
Joshua Dobbs once again had issues with accuracy early. But as we have said all year, this was always something that should have been expected.
Dobbs is a mobile quarterback who is smart and has a solid arm. But he is not always going to be completely on point, and that’s okay if he has the right players around him. He has the right players around him.
So on Saturday, Dobbs utilized what he has and accumulated over 300 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing with five total touchdowns, a huge game for him. That was enough to give his play an A.

Running Backs: B+
Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara combined had fewer than 100 yards rushing, and they barely had over three yards per carry. It was Joshua Dobbs who made the running game go.
But to be fair, given the past few weeks, Georgia sold out to stop the run, so Hurd’s job was to power forward for yards and keep the defense honest. That’s exactly what he did.
Meanwhile, Kamara had 31 receiving yards and two touchdowns, which has to count for something. And it does here. Those two things give the running backs a solid grade even if their running did not show up in the stats.
Wide Receivers/Tight Ends: B
The Vols appear to have found their rotation at wide receiver and tight end with Ethan Wolf, Josh Malone, Josh Smith, and Marquez North when he gets healthy.
But they still had too many dropped passes and mistakes today overall. The unit as a whole was fine and clearly did what was needed to win, but their grades can’t be too high because they keep under-achieving given what was expected of them at the beginning of the year.
At least they did enough in this game.
Offensive Line: A-
Nobody fed more off of the momentum swings than the offensive line.
They had trouble picking up a couple of blitzes early on. But despite injuries that thinned the unit, the insertion of Jack Jones and Chance Hall on the right side of the line worked wonders for the unit. Even with Jashon Robertson going out, the offensive line finally gave a sign of what it could be.
And it was a great sign.
The second half blocking gives this unit an A-, and it was all well-deserved.
Overall Offensive Grade: A-
Scoring 38 points against a very good SEC defense is A worthy. Early turnovers kept it from being an A+, but the fact that the Vols could come back from that allows for some credit.
