The Tennessee vs. South Carolina game Saturday involves two teams who have found a rhythm. Here are five Volunteers players to watch against the Gamecocks.

The Tennessee Vols football team will be looking to move back into the winning record column this week as they get set to host the Steve Spurrier-less South Carolina Gamecocks.

At 4-4 right now and 2-3 in the conference, Tennessee remains in prime position to finish on a very strong note, which appeared to start last week with a convincing 52-21 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.

As South Carolina comes marching in this week, the Vols are looking to continue a two-game winning streak against them. This year, it is expected to be easier than the past two.

But that is not a guarantee.

The Gamecocks showed some offensive life last week in a 35-28 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies, and the team appears to have come together recently. Hitting a bit of a rhythm, they could be more dangerous than Tennessee knows.

Perry Orth has gained a bit of consistency, Pharoh Cooper and Brandon Wilds are still there, and the defense can be very opportunistic. As a result, the Vols have to stay focused to win this game.

There are plenty of strengths on this Tennessee football team that are beginning to show up all over the football field. That has been the result of more young talent developing and other players finally coming on.

Certain players getting healthy and others finally reaching their full potential is a factor in it as well. The players making up Tennessee’s biggest mismatches will have to show up significantly.

The Vols do not want to lose the momentum they have gained really since the second half of the Georgia game.

Going into this week, here are the five players on the Vols to watch out for when they host the South Carolina Gamecocks.
