Here are the five Tennessee Volunteers football players who earned helmet stickers for their performances in the school’s 27-24 win against the Gamecocks.
It was not the prettiest win in the world, and it certainly could be a major cause for concern going forward.
But the Tennessee Vols were at least able to pull out a very tough victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks Saturday after blowing a 17-point lead.
Being able to take the lead back after surrendering it twice and then making a play to win the game at the end are things that have eluded this team so far. As a result, despite the fact that this game should not have been close, Tennessee’s win is actually another step in the right direction.
There were players who stepped up and made plays when needed, and Butch Jones and his staff made sure to keep his guys from panicking when things went against them.
For this game, it was really the defense that managed to get the big plays.
Many defensive individuals stood out because of what they did to change the game, but the defense as a whole stood out by letting Perry Orth have far too much success.
