Tennessee vs North Texas Game Preview: Predictions, Live Stream, TV Info, Weather, and Time for Vols and Mean Green

Here is the preview, including predictions, weather, live stream and TV info on the Tennessee vs North Texas game. The Vols host the Mean Green Saturday.

After a major scare last week in a 27-24 win against the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Tennessee Volunteers are back at Neyland Stadium this week for what should be their easiest game of the year.

The Vols, now 5-4, host a 1-8 team who has been abysmal all season long. North Texas is a far cry from the team that used to dominate the Sun Belt conference years back.

Tennessee clearly is hoping to continue its momentum that has been going on ever since they came back from that 24-3 deficit against the Georgia Bulldogs. But in this game, Butch Jones and the coaching staff are hoping to give the young guys some experience as well.

To do that, the Vols will need Joshua Dobbs and his playmakers at wide receiver to actually make some big plays early, then Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara can deliver the knockout punches by halftime.

On defense, a couple of sacks and interceptions from the secondary will help as well.

If the Vols can have a big lead early, it will be nice to see guys like Quinten Dormady get a few reps at quarterback.

The biggest thing for this football team has to be making this victory as easy as possible. They want to get ahead early and rest the starters to get ready for what will inevitably be an extremely tough road game against the Missouri Tigers next week.

Here is the official information on the game.

More from Vols Football

A point spread that large is very hard to bet on, particularly if Butch Jones pulls the starters early, which we all hope can happen.

There should be no reason for the Vols to have a scare for even one second in this game, and if that happens we will have major questions.

Last week was another scare in which Jones’s football team showed they can actually handle tense situations. Another tense situation this week will mean there are some problems.

More from All for Tennessee

With already so many injury issues, the easier it is for Tennessee to put this game away early, the safer they will be for another very tough SEC game next week.

As far as keys for North Texas…there aren’t any. They honestly have no realistic chance of winning this game except for a major miracle.

Prediction

The All for Tennessee staff has the Vols beating North Texas by 45, 35, and 53 points respectively. Averaged together, our scores would come out with Tennessee winning the game 52-7.

That’s below the over-under at 66.5 points but above the 42-point spread. Two of our staff members have the Vols covering that huge spread, which would be incredibly impressive this week.

Weather

The Weather Channel online is calling for 52 degrees and sunny at kickoff. The weather is expected to remain in the low to mid-50s throughout the game with no precipitation expected.

The wind, meanwhile, should not have too much of an impact, blowing only at about four to six miles an hour throughout the game. It’s the perfect setting for some November afternoon football.
