The 2015 Coaches’ All Southeastern Conference teams featured three Volunteers. Evan Berry, Derek Barnett, and Jalen Hurd all represented Tennessee football.
The Tennessee Vols had one first-team player and two second-team players in the 2015 Coaches’ All-SEC Team.
Evan Berry was a first-team return specialist after running back three kickoffs for touchdowns on the season.
Meanwhile, Derek Barnett made second-team as a defensive end for the second straight year with nine sacks and 11.5 tackles for a loss. Those numbers were a drop-off from last year but still among the best in the SEC.
The other second-teamer was running back Jalen Hurd, who finished the regular season with 253 carries for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns while also catching 21 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
Hurd was the workhorse for the Vols all year.
The Vols were tied for seventh in the SEC in terms of number of players to make All-SEC with the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks. All three teams each had three players.
They finished ahead of Auburn, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and Georgia.

The best part about the list for the Vols is it highlights their youth. All three All-SEC players were sophomores and will be back next year, speaking to the bright future of the program.
There are other guys like Trevor Daniel and Jalen Reeves-Maybin who definitely could have staked a claim to be on the list as well, both of whom will also be back, and Joshua Dobbs was close to getting on the list.
All of that spells a very exciting 2016 season for Butch Jones’s team, as his stocking up on youthful talent should finally come to pay off. He came close this year. Next year should be even better.
