The Lady Vols just lost to the Tide back in the middle of February 65-57. However, that was a road game, and Diamond DeShields got hurt four minutes in.
So they lost their best player and had to figure out how to adjust to the game without her. It did not end well.

DeShields, who just earned First-Team All-SEC while Mercedes Russell and Jaime Nared both made Second-Team, is now back and healthy.
She is playing her best basketball right now.
Coming off of the injury, DeShields saved Senior Night off the bench against the Florida Gators by single-handedly leading the Lady Vols to victory.
Then, she led Tennessee to a strong finish to the regular season Sunday with a huge road win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Now, Tennessee enters the SEC Tournament as a Top 15 team in the RPI and firmly in the NCAA Tournament, but a few extra wins to boost their seeding wouldn’t hurt.
Although the Tide have 18 wins on the season, one less win than the Lady Vols, they have the No. 133 ranked RPI due to their No. 108 ranked strength of schedule.
As a result, they likely have to win the SEC Tournament to get to the NCAA Tournament. But a 20-point win over the Commodores was not a bad start.
And the Lady Vols cannot take this team lightly if they want to win. Even with DeShields, the Tide are dangerous.
