Former Tennessee Volunteers Dylan Wiesman and LaTroy Lewis will attend the Oakland Raiders’ minicamp despite not being taken in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Two reliable and underrated contributes for Tennessee football over the past two years were not among the six Vols taken in the 2017 NFL Draft. But they were among the other five who also received looks. And now, Dylan Wiesman and LaTroy Lewis will get some attention from the Oakland Raiders.

The former Tennessee offensive lineman and defensive end will head to the Raiders’ minicamp this year, according to reports.

Wes Rucker of GoVols247 reported on Saturday night that Wiesman was heading to Oakland’s minicamp.

Throughout his career at Tennessee, Wiesman mostly played guard. But last year, before getting hurt late in the season, he was more of a utility player. Early in the year, Wiesman had to start some at center as Coleman Thomas was a bit dinged up, and he had to help carry the line for lots of the year due to injuries.

That versatility could be a huge selling point for a team like the Oakland Raiders.

Meanwhile, LaTroy Lewis was the odd man out of the three productive defensive ends, a rotation that included Derek Barnett and Corey Vereen.

Rucker reported on Lewis attending the Raiders camp Saturday night as well.

The guy blossomed into a very productive defensive end his final year in Knoxville, starting four games, playing in 11, and registering two and a half sacks and four tackles for a loss despite coming off the bench.

He has a major uphill battle to land a spot on an NFL roster, but having gone through numerous injuries and a position change, Lewis is definitely the type of guy who would have the right mentality to do that.

At least he is getting the chance to show what he can do.
