5. Michigan State Spartans

First on our list is the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans have been one of the best college basketball teams in the country.

Michigan State has been a stable team ranked inside the top 25. In fact, you could find the Spartans ranked in the top 25 every season but one which came in the 2006-07 season.

Another impressive stat about the Spartans is they have made the NCAA Tournament since the 1998 season. During that span, the program saw seven Final Four appearances with one Tournament runner-up.

Their home crowd is one of the best so playing at the Breslin Center would be a tough test for the Vols. It would be a neat experience for fans that like to travel to away games.

The Spartan crowd usually will white-out the arena. It is way more effective than the orange and white checkerboard during football games. Last season the Spartans were 30-5 overall and an impressive 16-1 at home.

Moving on to the coaches, the great Tom Izzo is the head man for the Spartans and still probably has a couple more years in him. Izzo is an outstanding coach with a record of 574-225, and all have come at Michigan State.

Not to mention, the Vols need and want revenge from the 2010 NCAA Tournament game against the Spartans. That was the game where Tennessee was one point away from their first Final Four breath in program history.
